Memories are triggered by sensual experiences with familiar materials, sounds, and imagery. My work replicates fragmented childhood memories, introducing a variety of objects that represent strength and comfort such as plush toys, drag-racing, and anthropomorphic forms.
Recently I have been investigation the fantasy of becoming a race car driver that pervades a large demographic within american contemporary culture. In recent work, this racing suit becomes a metaphor while I perform day-to-day tasks such as grocery shopping and driving to work.
